All players must complete the Registeration/Waiver at crossroadslax.com and also be a current members of US Lacrosse. Any player that is not registered with Crossroads Lacrosse and or US Lacrosse will not be allowed to play. If any team is low players for any reason, they may allow registered players from other teams to participate (with league permission) for a particular game, but not on a regular basis. Rules of play
All games will consist of 2 – 25 minute halves. Time, penalty time and stats will be kept by a scorekeeper.
Each field will have one certified official and a scorekeeper. Running time starts at :05(first half) and :35 (2nd half) minutes after the hour. Time will start at these times whether teams are ready or not!!
Each team will consist of with a roster size between 11 – 15 players.
Each team is allowed 2 long stick players on the field at one time.(No long poles in U11)
Teams will be given the opportunity to substitute either on the fly or during whistles. Players and coaches should communicate with the official at the time substitutions occur.
Face offs will only occur at the start of the game and start of the second half. After a goal is signaled, the defensive team (any player) will bring the ball out of the goal and start with the ball behind goal-line-extended. Play will resume with a whistle.
Teams must keep three players in their defensive end and at least two players in their offensive end at all times to remain “on-sides”. Any violation of this will result in a time serving penalty.
All NFHS rules are applicable with the exception of our field modifications regarding the 7 v 7 format due to the size of the field. There will be 7 players on the field (2 attack, 2 midfield, 2 defense and a goalie).
5 Goal Rule
If Team A scores to make it a 6 goal or more lead, Team B is awarded a free clear at midfield. From this point forward, if Team A's lead ever becomes 5 goals or less, Team B must again clear the ball from behind their own goal-line-extended (GLE).
10 Goal Rule
Once Team A has a 10 goal or more lead, Team B is awarded the ball at midfield after either team scores. From this point forward, if Team A's lead ever becomes 9 goals or less, the 5 Goal Rule goes back into effect.
Along the perimeter of the field there will be absolutely no body contact outside of the normal boxing out for loose ball (even if it is legal).
THERE WILL BE NO BODY CHECKING AT ALL outside of the normal “bumping” that occurs in loose ball and dodging situations. Any violation of this in the judgment of the referee, will result in a time serving penalty.
Time Serving Penalties
On any time serving penalty, the ball will re-start within the circle at midfield.
The person called for a foul (technical or personal) must immediately report to the scorekeeper in the substitution area.
If a technical foul was called, the player who was called for the foul will serve a 30 second penalty.
If a personal foul was called, the player who was called for the foul will serve a 1 minute penalty.
The purpose of these leagues is for players to keep their skills sharp and for teams to develop camaraderie during the "off-season". Negative behavior, intimidation and unnecessary roughness will not be tolerated. All players are expected to treat one another, the officials, spectators and the facility with respect. CCL holds the right to remove anyone from the league without refund if there is a problem. Please understand, we will do all we can to difuse any problems, but if it is persistant or is severe enough, we will take action.
