Cape Cod Lacrosse has been an opportunity for me to give back to the community that helped me start a career in the sport of lacrosse. I have two main objectives in the programs I run with CCLax: to provide top-notch instruction in all of our programs and

Development

The ultimate goal of Team Cape Cod is to develop young student athletes and help place them at the college level at a school that is appropriate, based on their academic and athletic abilities.  We can't properly develop our players in just summer leagues or during one week camps alone, we must spend time developing our players through proper training and guidance.
Team Cape Cod will provide our areas top players with practices, games, tournaments and clinics that will guarantee growth.  These provide enough repetition for players to take their game to an infinite level and coaches that will keep you learning every time you play!!!  By incorporating our Frostbite Clinics into our TCC training, we can insure that our players are receiving the best possible skill development for their age.  While skill development is the foundation of our program at every age level, it is our main focus with our youth teams.  For our High School players, the focus is shifted towards tactical play and situational awareness.  Skill development at this age level concentrates more on advanced skills and situations as opposed to the youth teams that will be concentrating on the fundamentals of every aspect of the game.

Placement

College placement is the long-term goal with Team Cape Cod coaches and staff.  The sport of lacrosse has long been accompanied with a reputation for academic success and we at Cape Cod Lacrosse will do all we can to promote academic success to our players.  College lacrosse coaches don't want a player that isn't going to be on their team for 4 years, they want to know they can rely on a player to participate in their program for 4 years and graduate.
CCL director Greg Clements spent 10 years coaching at Division 1, 2 & 3 colleges as well as played 5 seasons as a professional player in the NLL.  In this time, Coach Clements developed a large network of relationships that will serve to be invaluable to the members of TCC looking for college placement.  It is also very important to CCL that we develop a reputation for sending our players to schools that match their abilities.  Our staff will be very honest with our players to be sure players maximize their college experience.  Student-athletes receive far more for their money than students not involved in athletics.  We encourage all of our players to to play in college.
We will work with players and their families to compile a complete portfolio with all academic and athletic information for college coaches including video.  We assist families through the application and financial aid process.  We will provide guest speakers from colleges to talk to our Senior class each fall as they begin the application process.
While we will see many college coaches at tournaments, it is very helpful to have coaches that can create opportunities through relationships!!!!  We also understand that the majority of all players are not Division 1 players, but still want to play in college.  We will be sure to help any player in our program in their college search at any level school.  We are here for the good of our players!!
